Most of you know the story about my son's injury Feburary 2010...Super Bowl Sunday and his year and a half long recovery. He was in and out of the hospital numerous times for infections and numerous surgeries. During the many, many hours spent there I tried to take a quilt project with me to work on but sometimes, depending on how he was feeling, I needed to be up and out of my chair to tend to him in about 30 seconds, which we all know is not enough time to carefully place needes and pins.
So I took up yarn work again. I needed something for my hands to do during that time. Crochet is alot easier to drop at a moments notice. I started the afghan pictured below. It was tossed in the closet over the spring and summer because so many other things needed tending to and life got busy. Things have slowed down so I rescued the project from the closet and it is now completed. During the time in the hospital my son's girlfriend commented on how pretty it was. I really had no plans for the completed item so I am thinking it will be a Christmas gift for her. Money will be tight because of the past year and a half so I need to be smart about gift giving this year. I think she will love it.
So that means one gift down...yeah!!!!
